Andrew Carroll Obituary

Andrew Fredrick Carroll

October 28, 1939 – February 27, 2022

Andrew Fredrick Carroll from Vincent, California, went home to rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 27, 2022. Andrew was born in Napoleon, Ohio to Walter and Marie Carroll and is survived by one sister Dollie Micketti.

Andrew’s final days were spent surrounded by his five children who loved him dearly and who he adored more than anything else in the world. Andrew is survived by his loving Anita of 60 years, and their five children, Cynthia, Nicole, Dawn (Corrado Militi), Christopher, Rochelle (Adam Lind); nine grandchildren, Alexander, Taylor (Joe Bonano), Christian, Isabella, Giuseppe, Valentina, Antonella, Oliver, Cameron, and one great granddaughter Georgia.

Growing up in Ohio Andrew was known as “Fritz” to his family and peers. Upon his arrival to California he chose “Chris Carroll” as a stage name when he sought to become an actor, and then was affectionately dubbed as Andy “AC” Carroll by his Motion Picture Industry buddies.

When Andrew was a young man, he enlisted into the United States Army. He was a sharpshooter in the Army Infantry Division, was stationed in Germany, and received a Good Conduct Medal for proudly serving his country.

When Andrew was in his early 20’s, he moved to California to pursue a career in Motion Pictures. This is where he met Anita, the love of his life who soon after became his wife and they were blessed with five children.

Andy “AC”  had a career as a set lighting electrician in the Motion Picture Industry, Local 728 that spanned 37 years until his retirement in 2002. He met many wonderful people who became like family to him and that he kept in touch with and met with frequently up until his final days. You would often hear them quoting the line “Tonight We Ride!”

Andrew loved all animals, especially his dogs Duchess, Dingo Bud, and his best friend Jack. Andrew loved living the cowboy ranch lifestyle and raised his pigs, roosters, chickens (boy, did he love collecting those fresh eggs), goats – who he named “Whacker” and “Mow”, and his beloved horses Sheba, Cappy, and Dobbs to name a few.

Andrew was an avid angler, he and his son Christopher enjoyed time together at the Palmdale Fin and Feather club, and took trips to Mammoth, Castaic, Tule River amongst many other places to enjoy the outdoors he loved so well. Andrew loved working on his cars and trucks, riding his Harley motorcycles, and off-roading dirt bikes, dune buggies and quads. Andrew was a member of the AV Treasure Hunter’s Society and a collector of rare and antique items that he picked up in his travels.

Andrew listened to a variety of music, his favorite artists were Elvis Presley, Tom Waits and John Cougar Mellencamp and loved many western movies, but what entertained him the most was his love of reading, epecially his favorite author Louis L’Amour.

His experiences in life and his career led to a million stories that Andrew told, those stories would paint a picture to all who listened, stories that would make you wonder and let you know how much he dared to live life to the fullest. All the people he shared his life with will remember these tales, they will live in our hearts forever, along with the man who told them so well.
