Freddie Hartman, better known as "Granny". Went to her forever home on July 27, 2024, at Palmdale Regional Medical Center surrounded by family who loved her. Freddie's life was filled with love. laughter, and kindness. Freddie was known for her humor, her loving spirit and her unwavering generosity. Freddie would give her last and not expect anything in return.
Freddie Hartman was born at the Huey P Long Charity Hospital. She was the daughter of Ed Hickman Bodney and Emma Jones Bodney in Rapides Parish Louisiana. She went to Alfred Wettermark High School in Boyce, LA, where she met Nathaniel Hartman. Freddie and Nathaniel were later wedded in 1956 and they later had seven children together. Freddie was employed as a CNA for many years. She then moved onto become the supervisor of housekeeping at Porter Maid for over twenty years.
She leaves behind four daughters, one adopted son, a goddaughter twenty-three grandchildren and sixty-seven great grandchildren in addition to one great great grand child, all whom she loved dearly. She was an amazing mother and grandmother as she raised many of her grandchildren and even some of her great grandchildren. She was a loving aunt, sister and friend to many. Her love for the Lord was unmatched as evidences for her devotion to her church, Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church and her daily devotion to the Word of God.
Freddie may have left this world, but her love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
WHAT IS A MOTHER
A Mother is someone who understands
And someone you can trust.
She will listen to you night and day when
Don't have much to say.
A Mother will stand with you are right and correct
And when you are wrong.
She will hold you up when you are weak
And pray with you to make you strong.
A Mother's love is unconditioned and unique
In every way.
You showed me love
Like a Mother should.
Today I say goodbye Mom.
Thank you for loving Me.
I will love you and will miss you dearly.
