Jo Jenkins-Rogers Obituary

Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends,

Today, we gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Jo Ann Jenkins-Rogers, a remarkable
woman whose presence touched so many of us. While it is with heavy hearts that we mourn
her passing, it is also with gratitude and fond memories that we reflect on her journey.
Jo Ann was born on April 5, 1953, in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in a large and
loving family. From a young age, it was clear that Jo Ann was someone special. As a child,
she was a peaceful firecracker—a wonderful paradox of serenity and spirited energy. She
was incredibly smart, always ahead of her peers, but she was also not one to be trifled with.
Jo Ann had a strength and determination that commanded respect and admiration from
everyone around her.

Her intelligence and drive propelled her through her education at Palmdale High School,
and later at Antelope Valley College and North Ridge College. Jo Ann dedicated over 40
years of her life to a fulfilling career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). In her
profession, she found her true calling—caring for others. Her dedication to her patients was
a testament to her loving and nurturing nature, and she made a significant impact on
countless lives through her compassionate care.

Jo Ann's quiet demeanor belied the depth of her love and strength. She was deeply loved
by all who knew her. Whether she was watching old movies, spending time with family, or
simply being there for those who needed her, Jo Ann's presence was a source of comfort
and joy. She cherished her roles as a mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and her influence was
especially felt by the children in her life, who looked up to her with admiration and affection.
Jo Ann leaves behind a loving family, including her husband of 50 years, Dave O. Rogers;
her sons, Dave J. Rogers and Royal Jenkins; her brother, Jerad Jenkins; her goddaughter,
LaPorcha Grigsby; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Ella Jenkins; and her siblings, Ellawese,
Willie, Johnnie Jr., Mary Lou, Jimmy Lee, George Lee, and Joseph Lee Jenkins.

In times of sorrow, we find solace in the words of scripture. Psalm 34:18 offers us comfort:
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

As we remember Jo Ann, let us honor her legacy by embodying the qualities she
exemplified: love, kindness, strength, and resilience. Though she may no longer be with us
in body, her spirit lives on in the memories we hold and the lives she touched. Rest in
peace, Jo Ann Jenkins-Rogers. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
