Libby Berryman Obituary

LIbby Suzanne Berryman

Perfect Wife. Cool Mom. Loving Daughter and Daughter-in-Law. Super Sister-in-Law.  Niece and Cousin to many.  Faithful Friend to her Besties.

Libby was born on May 2, 1976, in Tulsa, OK, to Dad, Michael C. Nauman (who she called “Dude”), and Mom, Carol Huggins Nauman (who she called “M”). She called herself a California Girl, having moved to San Jose, CA, from New Orleans, LA, in the middle of her 6th grade year.

In 1994, Libby graduated from Oak Grove High School, San Jose, CA. She was a cheerleader and played first base on the school softball team during her senior year.

Libby attended Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, CA, and graduated in 1998 with a BA
in Marketing. During her University years she sang in Bel Canto and the University Choir.

The first day of freshman move-in, Libby met the love of her life, Matthew Berryman, who was doing his civic duty by helping the freshman girls move into the dorm! They began dating their freshman year, and never dated anyone else. Matt arranged to ask Libby to marry him during the last University Choir concert before Christmas break in front of the student body.  She said yes, and on September 19, 1998, in what became known to the whole world as the Wedding of the Century, they began their lives together, moving to Lancaster soon after marrying.

Libby was employed by the Antelope Valley Union High School District, teaching most recently at Eastside High School.

Surviving are her husband Matt, and three children, Tanner, McKyla, and Colton. Also surviving are her parents, Mike and Carol Nauman, Father and Mother-in-Law, Tim and Marti Berryman, and Sister-in-Law, Kimberly Berryman, all of Covina, CA, Brother-in-Law, Mark Berryman, of Idaho, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, and many, many Friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019, at 4:00 pm, at Central Christian Church, 3131 W.  Ave. J, Lancaster, CA.

Libby’s heart was with youth as she desired to not only educate them, but help them through difficult times so they would always feel loved by Jesus. For this reason, in lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Young Life Antelope Valley at the following link.  https://giving.younglife.org/YoungLifeAntelopeValley
