Richard Lee McCaughey 79 of Lancaster, CA passed away at his residence on May 25th, 2025. He was born May 4th, 1946, in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. He was the son of Betty and Colonel Mack McCaughey. He had a close relationship with his father and was raised in a military household where he traveled the globe as a child. In 1968, Dick graduated from Kansas University with his Bachelor of Science in Education. Dick served his country in the army for 1 year 7 months and 20 days during the Vietnam war. After, he had a long successful career at Rockwell and PPG. Dick was the epitome of what it means to be a Father, a Protector and Provider. He created traditions that will be appreciated and cherished for generations to come. He was reliable and committed to supporting his family always. He donated to the animal shelters and rescued many lucky dogs throughout his life. Dick is survived by his two children Ashley Monaghan and Kelley Iribarren. He will be sorely missed by his brother Terrence McCaughey, son in law Tony Iribarren, grandchildren Kesley Tarnoff and husband Travis, and Baylee Iribarren. He leaves behind two great grandchildren, Becklin and Leighton Tarnoff and his life long best friend Bruce Brown.
