Vincent Gilbert Bernal, known affectionately as “Vinnie” by his loved ones, passed away on July 2nd in Lancaster, CA, at the age of 61. Born on March 22nd, 1963, he was the son of Cristina Rios and Silvino Campos Bernal. Growing up in San Fernando under the care of his grandmother, Mercedes Campos Bernal, “Grandma Mercy,” and his father, Silvino Bernal Jr, Vinnie cherished his family roots. Preceded in death by his parents Cristina Rios & Silvino Bernal and siblings Marky, Vito, Stephanie, and Joey, he is survived by his sons Michael, Vincent, and Silvino Bernal, daughter Amanda Bernal Avila, grandchildren Mikey, Isaiah, Raymond, Krystina, Zavier, and Ian, and his brother Eric.
Vincent's early years were spent working alongside his father in construction, before branching out into various roles from gardener to mechanic, truck driver, dispatcher, and barber. Known as a cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, his sudden passing left a void in many lives, yet his memory lives on through the love he shared with all who knew him.
Vincent's multifaceted nature extended beyond his familial roles, as he was a friend, co-worker, colleague, cousin, brother, and a father figure to some. His legacy is one of laughter, hard work, and unwavering support to those around him. Let's honor his life by sharing photos, memories, and stories in his memory, celebrating the joy and laughter he brought into our lives.
