Elizabeth, Eli, was born in Mexico City, Mexico to Rebeca Lopez Pertrides and Zenon Petrides. Growing up Eli was a very creative, affectionate and loving child who enjoyed playing with her pets poodle Tottie, her lamb Chencho and her duck. Dale was the oldest of four children, born in Los Angeles, on April 16, 1937. He graduated from Venice High School in Venice, California in 1955. Upon receiving his diploma, he joined the U.S. Navy. He served for four years where his last duty assignment was in the Airborne Barrier Services Squad Two.
